Studio Assistant – Part-Time

Part-time: 12–15 hours/week | Pay: $18.00/hour
Peterson MADE is a fine jewelry and professional piercing studio specializing in handcrafted jewelry, custom commissions, fingerprint keepsakes, Forever Linked permanent jewelry, and professional piercing. Located in Matthews, NC, we create meaningful jewelry and offer personalized experiences to celebrate life's milestones. Each experience is designed to feel personal, intentional, and lasting.
Peterson MADE is looking for a Studio Assistant who enjoys working with people, thrives in a creative environment, and wants to grow alongside a small, hands-on business. The Studio Assistant plays a key role in delivering an exceptional customer experience while helping Peterson MADE operate efficiently. This is the studio's first dedicated support position, created to keep retail operations running smoothly, while creating additional capacity for the owner to focus on jewelry fabrication, custom design, and professional piercing.
This position reports directly to the owner and supports daily retail operations, customer experience, business administration, and studio organization. As Peterson MADE grows, the role is expected to grow alongside the business, with opportunities to develop new skills and take on greater responsibility over time.
Peterson MADE has two studio locations in Matthews, NC. The primary work location is the retail studio inside Moxie Mercantile in Downtown Matthews. Some responsibilities and special projects may take place at the production studio, also in Matthews, NC, where our jewelry is made.
This is a part-time daytime position averaging 12–15 hours per week to start. Coverage is needed primarily during daytime business hours on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, with some flexibility for events, seasonal promotions, and business needs.
Training is provided alongside the owner, with increasing independence as skills, competency, and confidence develop. The expectation is that the Studio Assistant will confidently operate scheduled retail shifts while maintaining the Peterson MADE customer experience and operational standards.
